Malaysia boasts of many unique tourist destinations, including Kek Lok Si in Penang
However, Dr Ng did not furnish statistics on the complaints received by the ministry.
“Frontliners like taxi drivers, tour agents and staff at airline and hotel counters reflect the country’s image.
“They should respect tourists and treat them with courtesy,” she said at a Chinese New Year function here today.
She added frontliners should view the matter seriously as they represent Malaysians and determine success of the country’s tourism industry.
The ministry is targeting more tourists from Australia, China, India, Russia, Belgium, Holland, Britain and Middle East this year.
