Kangar is now a litter-free town thanks to the clean zones initiative by the Kangar Municipal Council, Perlis tourism executive councillor Ahmad Bakri Ali said. He said that the initiative, launched end of last year, was successful in creating awareness about cleanliness among the people.

Kangar, now litter free!

Speaking at the closing of the 1Malaysia bazaar at Dataran Datuk Sheikh Ahmad, he said the clone zones covered Jalan Panglima, Jalan Kangar-Alor Setar, Jalan Penjara, Jalan Kelab Indera Kayangan, Jalan Hospital, Jalan Penjara, Jalan Home Guard, Jalan Jubli Perak, Jalan Bukit Lagi and Jalan Raja Syed Alwi.

“This means that the whole of Perlis is now litter-free,” he said.

He urged the people to ensure the town remained clean, saying the state was now ready to accept influx of tourists.
