Eco-Tourism The New Tourist Attraction In Negeri Sembilan

The Negeri Sembilan government is giving special emphasis on eco-tourism as the new attraction to tourists, besides the beach resorts in Port Dickson which had long been famous. The Chairman of the State Committee on Tourism, Datuk Mohammad Razi Kail said the focus on eco-tourism was seen to be most appropriate as the state had many scenic recreational forests.

“Currently, the state government with allocation from the Tourism Ministry has developed the Taman Alam Liar Lembah Jemaloi, Jelebu and Taman Eco Edu Tourism Sungai Menyala, Port Dickson,” he told Bernama.

He said that in line with the government’s aspiration to develop the tourism sector, particularly in Negeri Sembilan to achieve the gross domestic product (GDP) of up to 30 per cent for the sector, the state’s Forestry Department had developed 11 recreational forests

The 11 recreational forests are the Ulu Bendul recreational forest, Tengkek recreational forest, De Bana recreational forest, Serting Ulu recreational forest, Lata Kijang recreational forest, Jeram Toi recreational forest, Lenggeng recreational forest, Pasir Panjang recreational forest, Gunung Datuk recreational forest, Gunung Tampin recreational forest and Batu Maloi recreational forest.
