panaPanasonic Malaysia on Tuesday launched its new range of Toughbook mobile computers and expects to sell 1,000 units of the CF-U1 and 500 units of the CF-H1 by year end.

Its project general manager and strategic planning advisor Yoshiyuki Tanabe said the Toughbook CF-H1 is the first fully-rugged mobile clinical assistant while the Toughbook CF-U1 is the lightest and smallest rugged handheld computer.

“The launch of our new Toughbook re-solidifies Panasonic’s commitment, providing rugged and mobile computing technologies for users in all conditions and environments,” he said at the product launch here.

He said both Toughbook continues the successful legacy by redefining performance and functionality with long battery life, dual hot swappable batteries standard, daylight viewable screen and wireless connectivity.

“Our Toughbook will enable everyday workers to become knowledge workers by giving them the tools, data, mobility and ruggedness they need to become more productive,” he added.

Panasonic Malaysia also announced the appointment of Jardine OneSolution (JOS) Distribution as the national distributor for its range of ruggedised laptops in Malaysia.

“With this strategic partnership between Panasonic Malaysia and JOS Distribution, we can enhance the ability to provide an avenue for resellers to have a comprehensive pre and post sales support,” said JOS general manager Andrew Lee.

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-H1 and CF-U1 as well as other range of Toughbook are available at estimated retail prices of between RM8,000 and RM15,000 from authorised JOS resellers.
