Because of the various religious and ethnic groups living in Malaysia, Malaysians celebrate Islamic, Hindu, Buddhist and Christian holidays.

During the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, some restaurants may be closed during daytime because of fasting during this period from sunrise to sunset.
