The atoll feature 2000m sheer drops all around its rim, making it an excellent wall dive site.

Layang-Layang used to be remote and forbidding but since the recent completion of a 1,067m airstrip and an 86 room three star resort, it is now easily accessible and "luxury" accommodation is available right at the heart of the South China Sea. Non-divers are welcome. The flight, using 12-seater and 30-seater planes, takes about an hour.

Resort facilities:

86 rooms air-conditioned rooms, extra size beds, private shower, TV, refrigerator, telephone and private verandah.

Swimming pool, kayaking, windsurfing and cycling.

The restaurant that can accommodate 150 persons serves Asian and Continental Specialty.

Bar serving exotic cocktails and refreshing soft drinks.
